Inside the Shengong Shengde Stele Pavilion,
the stele is carried on a 50ton marble
tortoise—the Son of Dragon (which the emperor
called himself). A white marble ornamental pillar
(Huabiao) with a mythical beast on top is located
at each corner of the pavilion.
